President Erdoğan to Visit China and the U.S.


President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will pay an official visit to China from May 12 to 15, 2017, to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which will be held on May 14-15 in Beijing, and to meet with President Xi Jinping of China.

President Erdoğan will address the High-Level Dialogue Meeting of the Forum on May 14 and the Leaders’ Roundtable Summit on May 15. The President will also hold talks with the participating heads of state and government of the Forum.

At the Forum, which will be held under the theme “Belt and Road: Cooperation for Common Prosperity,” discussions will be conducted on key topics such as infrastructure connectivity, economic cooperation and trade, industrial investment, energy and resources, financial support, people-to-people exchanges, ecological and environmental protection and marine cooperation.

The UN Secretary General, the World Bank President and the IMF Director as well as heads of state and government of 28 countries and over 250 ministers are expected to attend the Forum.

Following his contacts in China, President Erdoğan will visit the U.S. from May 15 to 17, 2017.

As part of his visit to the U.S., President Erdoğan will meet with U.S. President Donald J. Trump and receive NGO and business representatives.
