In the face of the terrorist attacks we have suffered recently, both local and foreign footballers playing for clubs in Spor Toto Super League took part in an “All-Star” football game in show of unity and solidarity. The game, the kick-off of which was taken by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was played as a tribute to martyrs, and ended in a 4-3 victory for the Native Stars Team against the Foreign Stars Team.
All revenues of the game, which was played at BJK Vodafone Arena on December 22, 2016, will go to the families of our citizens who lost their lives or were wounded in terrorist attacks via the Ministry of Family and Social Policies. The organization was held under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey and the coordination of the Foundation of Turkish Football Federation and Union of Clubs.
The World Halal Summit aims at bringing together leaders and experts of the halal product sector from all around the world at an inspiring and informative event in order to raise awareness among Muslims on consumption of halal products and meet Muslims’ needs thereof.

“Golden Pages” was the first exhibition of pages in Kufic calligraphy in Turkey. The exhibition aimed to raise awareness in the society and art world, and demonstrate the reflections of Islam in arts and aesthetics throughout history, as opposed to a perception of Islam, which was lately tried to be associated with violence.
The exhibition was on display between March 5 and May 10, 2016 at the Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum is Istanbul.

At the battle of Kut al-Amara, the Ottoman Army under the command of Halil Pasha won a historic victory over British troops in Kut located, in today's Iraq.
On the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of Kut al-Amara Victory, a commemoration ceremony was held on April 29, 2016 at Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Center by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Hilye-i Şerif and Prayer Beads Museum, the first thematic and private museum in Turkey on Islamic arts, was inaugurated in Siyavus Pasha Madrasah within Suleymaniye Mosque complex on January 2, 2016.
One of the largest collections of calligraphy and prayer beads are displayed at the museum, established by Istanbul Foundation for Arts and Civilization.
The World Tourism Forum was held between the dates of February 4-6, 2016 at Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Center with the participation of CEOs of leading tourism companies, professionals and heads of countries’ publicity offices.

The Seljuk Area Cultural Development and Action Plan that is to help develop the socio-cultural and physical features of the area and to protect the historical and cultural legacies of the Seljuks has been completed under the aegis of the Presidency.

The 44th biennial Global Conference and General Assembly of the International Co-operative Alliance was held in Antalya under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey.

The XVII World Congress of the World Federation of the Deaf was held in Istanbul, Turkey for the first time.
Istanbul had been chosen to host the congress, leaving the other candidate cities, Berlin and New Mexico behind.
The World Congress of the World Federation of the Deaf aims to encourage international exchange of information to meet the basic needs of deaf people and to elevate their quality of life. There are approximately 6 million deaf people in Turkey and 360 million in the world. At every congress, thousands of experts, both deaf and hearing, from all over the world get a chance to share their experiences. Also, a main theme is determined for each congress in accordance with the circumstances of the time. This year, the congress was held around the theme, “Strengthening Human Diversity”.
The XVII World Congress of the World Federation of the Deaf was held by the Turkish National Federation of the Deaf between July 28 – August1, 2015 at Istanbul Congress Center.

A Symposium titled “A Legal Review of the 1915 Events in 100th Anniversary on the Basis of Historical Findings" was held on May 8, 2015 by the Faculty of Law of Yıldırım Beyazıt University.
Historians presented their findings about the 1915 events and there was a legal review based on these findings to determine whether the 1915 events might actually be described as genocide. The purpose of this symposium was to provide an opportunity for foreign and local historians and legists to present their scientific views.

The 6th World Forum on Energy Regulation, the first global event held in energy in Turkey, was organized by Energy Market Regulatory Authority under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey.
